About the Project:  

The project aimed to address the gap between the aspirations of urban youth and their employability in the context of growing unemployment and lack of opportunity. The vocational centres provided skill training in English and soft skills, computer literacy, tally software and accounting principles,office assistance as well as housekeeping and security. 

Based on Yugantar’s previous work with migrant and local youth, the project specifically targeted young people from disadvantaged backgrounds who were unable to complete their higher education as well as job seekers without previous work experience who were not preferred by prospective employers.Through the project, young job-seekers were guided towards sustainable career paths and to gain a foothold in the dynamic Indian job market.
