Bridging communities with government services, schemes, and essential documentation

Timeline: 2025 – Ongoing | Location: Hyderabad, Telangana

The Context:For many low-income households, accessing government schemes can be complicated and time-consuming. Limited awareness, missing documentation, digital barriers, and unclear processes often prevent residents from receiving benefits they are eligible for. Communities frequently rely on informal information networks, leading to confusion, misinformation, and delayed access to essential services.

Project Approach:Yojana Saathi works through a community-centred support model that combines on-ground outreach with digital systems. The project focuses on making government services easier to understand, access, and track, while building trust and long-term engagement within communities.

Turning Access into Action:

  • Supporting residents with applications for government schemes and entitlements
  • Assisting with documentation such as Aadhaar, ration cards, pensions, and certificates
  • Conducting door-to-door outreach and community awareness sessions
  • Creating simple, local-language resources explaining schemes and eligibility
  • Using digital tracking systems to monitor applications and follow-ups
  • Connecting residents with relevant government offices and service providers

Key Learnings so far:

  • Many residents are eligible for schemes but lack clear information or support
  • Documentation gaps are one of the biggest barriers to access
  • Consistent follow-up is critical for successful applications
  • Community trust significantly improves participation and engagement
  • Local, language-based communication helps reduce misinformation

Why We Think This Matters:

Access to government services should not depend on digital literacy, social networks, or the ability to navigate complex systems. Yojana Saathi works to bridge this gap by making public services more accessible, understandable, and community-driven.
