About the Project:
With the aid of modules custom-designed by a team of experts and informed by the needs of low-income women, Yugantar created this project to help female domestic workers in Hyderabad improve their financial knowledge, ability, and access in an effort to strengthen their financial power, not just in their own households, but in society as well.
The content created for this programme consists of three modules: Budgeting, Savings, and Investments. These modules cover topics such as recording of income and expenses, methods to save, and areas to invest in. In addition a Snakes & Ladders game was created to teach the importance of budgeting, savings, and investments. Participants were informed about various government saving and investment schemes including pension plans, health insurance, etc.
This project, titled Budget Rani, in partnership with the Telangana Domestic Workers’ Union, launched its first workshop on 6th April 2022. There were 30 participants. The second workshop was conducted on 29th April 2022 with 93 participants and 16 volunteers.
