Title: Workshop on Muslim Youth: Self Employment and Skill Development

Date: 15th April, 2012 Workshop Description: The workshop was conducted to create a dialogue between several experts/ stake holders and Muslim youth on the issue of existing problems faced by Muslim youth in accessing Self-employment and Skill Development. The aim of the workshop was to be able to come up with effective ways and means to raise several issues confronting Muslim youth in accessing employment. The workshop was conducted in Shaheen Nagar in the Old City of Hyderabad.

The workshop was conducted in the Moghulpura area of Old City of Hyderabad.

Title: International Seminar on Social Exclusion: Meanings and Perspectives

Workshop Description: The objective of the seminar was to engage with certain crucial questions involved in the understanding of the idea of social exclusion and to explore new methodologies to capture the multidisciplinary nature of the social exclusion. The presentations in the seminar sought to comprehend a wide range of areas of social exclusion such as: theoretical aspects, the historically marginalized and oppressed communities along with the relatively new categories of social exclusion, issues of poverty, development, democracy, rights and media in relation to social exclusion. The conference saw the participation of over 35 academicians, activists and intellectuals from different universities and organizations (both from India and abroad) belonging to multiple disciplines from the social sciences and media.
